Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): Origin 2019
Operating System: Windows 8.1

Hello,

after upgrading to Origin 2019, I cannot seem to open certain Origin templates with the win -t p command. Other templates work fine. I then try to save these templates again (from a graph) and re-call them via the command line and they still fail.

These templates had particularly long filenames. Has something changed in this version? My scripts used to work fine in 2018.

Hi,

Could you please show me an example? What is the filename of the template?

I tried as you mentioned, but it works fine.

Regards,
Yuki

Hi Yuki,

Please look at this link and try to load the template with the win -t p command (place it in the User files folder first).

I should also mention that if I shorten the filenames then it works again, which is probably what I will have to do in the end. It's just strange.

Hi,

I tried on my machine and I could create a template graph window as expected. Did you surround the path with quotation marks(“”) like:

win -t p "C:\Users\yuki\Documents\OriginLab\User Files\TGBC-WGOFET_IDTBT_6.7-gl_83pDCB-17pCF_100C-1h_TCNQ-10-pww_cycle_800_min_step_1_up-H2O_Idon_Idoff_Igon_Igoff_vs_time_Vd=-1V.otpu"

Regards,
Yuki

Hi Yuki,

Including the path inside the quotes did the trick!

But I never had to do that before, as all my templates were in the (default) User Files folder. I used to call them by just using the script filename (win -t p "TGBC..."), a method that still works on scripts with short filenames. Did something change?

Thanks for your help.

Hi,

We haven’t changed this command in new version, but for this command, if the path includes spaces, we must surround the path with quotation marks (" "), like the document said:
https://www.originlab.com/doc/LabTalk/ref/Window-cmd#-t.3B_Create_a_new_window_from_the_template_file

Yuki
