Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Origin 2016

Hello!

I'm wondering if there is a way of changing the colour mapping in 3d surface plots from automatically setting the values on the z dimension.

I'd like my colour change to be due to the values on the x axis to make my data clearer. Swapping my axes so that Z and X are swapped doesn't show the data in an easy to understand way.

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

If you double click on the graph, change to Fill tab in the dialog, you can set Colormap to col(A):"X". Thanks.

Thanks for replying! I've tried this but I've only got the click option for 'colormap' and then nothing happens. There is no mention of the axes in the plot details/properties windows.

Any idea where I'm going wrong?

Thanks!

I see, you are running Origin 2016. This option is added after Origin 2018. See below. You will have to upgrade your Origin to use this feature.
