Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Origin pro 2016/18

I can export a pdf of a single figure to a file with tight cropping, but when I embed several graphs in a layout, I don't seem to be able to export the layout with no whitespace. I think the spare whitespace around the edges of the graphs always appears in the export of the layout.
I know I can use a 3rd party pdf cropping tool, but this is a pain if you have to repeat this multiple times.

Is there a workaround?

J.

Hi,

You indicate that you have Origin 2018. If so (or later Origin), you can specify an exact area to export.

With the Layout active, go to Edit menu and choose Export Margin Offsets...

You will see a green cropping indicator appear on the graph. You can drag and drop it to adjust exactly what you want exported. Then hit OK in the little dialog that popped up. You can choose ANY part of a graph or layout.

Then when exporting, set the Margin Control to "Page". For later versions, it would be "Auto" but for 2018,"Page" is the one to choose.

Give it a try and let use know if it works for you!

Thanks,

Aha... So that was added in a later version... I am actually running 2016 on the machine I am sat in front of, but have 2018 on other machines elsewhere in the lab. I guess I'd better use one of those machines!
