OriginPro 2019b (64-bit) 9.6.5.169 (Academic) Window 7 x64 SP1
Greetings!
I use the Import Wizard to create an import filter and specify Variable Extraction settings (https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/ImpWiz-ASC-ExtractVarPage).
1) Do import filters hold the variable extraction settings specified during their creation? 2) If the answer to 1) is positive, then how do I change the variable extraction settings (using Import Filters Manager or somehow else)?
Thank you. |

Hi,
1) yes. 2) You can save the import filter into a file in the last page of Import Wizard. For the future import, you can load this import filter in the data selection page of import wizard tool, modify the settings and save again.
Thanks, James |

Great news! It would be great to have a full-featured import filter editor, that has access to all the properties of a filter. Currently, as I see, a part of properites (for example custom partial import settings) are customizable via Import Filters Manager and a part of properties (such as variable extraction settings) - via Import Wizard.
By the way, where the imported variables are stored? How to I use them in a workbook?
Thank you.

Dear James,
Thank you for the suggestion. However, I could not find a way to access|read the variables containing parts of the text header that I set up in the Import Filter settings. Can you suggest reading on this please? |
