Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: OriginPro 2020 STudent Version 64-bit

Can someone explain why my derived parameter (k) is positive when I use the ExpDec1 function and negative when I use the ExpGro1 function? Shouldn't it be the other way around?

Hi DJ6,

Yes, the derived parameter k will be different for these two functions function, because there is a minus sign in ExpDec1 but ExpGro1 hasn't.

You can refer to these help pages:
https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/ExpDec1-FitFunc
https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/ExpGro1-FitFunc

If you mean other things or have any other questions, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks,
Shirley

Thanks Shirley!

In this case, if I were to extrapolate a depuration constant from using ExpDec1 as my function and k as the value representing that constant, should my depuration constant be negative or remain positive?
