Hi all,

I'm used to create templates of plots in order to save some time (as everyone else, I guess). Recently, I'm not able anymore to choose and select from my teplate library due to a very annoying problem with the selection menu (see screenshot below).

It says "VC Member function call execution error". Since it's not possible to enlarge the window it's impossible to select any template (plus, if you try to move with the arrows between the different plots it creates new empty plots).

If I choose one of the few user-defined plots that are available on the preview page (Plot> Template> User) everything works perfectly.

Do you have any idea how to fix this problem and save some time?
Many thanks!

Hello,

Could you let me know which version of Origin you are using?

For distorted dialog layout, you can run regedit.exe.
Go to HKEY_Current_User\Software\OriginLab\your origin version\International\Dialogs\ folder. Delete the dialog name to reset the dialog layout. Or you can delete the whole Dialogs folder so all dialogs are layout and locations are reset

Regarding to the error, does it only happen for this dialog?
Could you try to Repair your Origin to see if that will fix the issue?

Thanks, Snow
Have you tried repairing your Origin to see if the error will go away?

First of all, thanks a lot for the reply! I appreciate any kind of help since I'm not too familiar with the software.

I'm using OriginPro 2018 (64-bit) SR1, b9.5.1.195.

Unfortunately I can't find the "International" folder nor the regedit.exe file. Where could I find them?

I found a Dialogs folder which I deleted, but now it doesn't open at all the Template library window, doesn't let me save graphs and this new error appeared:

"System Folder build failed! Please resolve.
C:\Program Files\OriginLab\Origin2018\OriginC\originlab\GetNBox.c"

How do I fix this now?

I tired repair but it says "Please Insert Disk 1 That Contains the File layout.bin" and even when I put the location of the folder with the origin .exe file it fails.

Repair needs to point to Setup folder, where setup.exe is located.

Thanks, Snow

Hello,
It's not in your Origin.
In your Windows OS, enter regedit in Start menu to find regedit.exe and run it.

Thanks, Snow
