The autosave every 10 minutes function is on, but on the folder Autosave there are no files as well as nothing in the Backup folder. Is there anywere else the unsaved file could be located? The file froze and I force exited the program.

Did you look in the Unsaved folder?

Thanks,

The autosaved files will be cleared when you save & exit the actual one.
So potentially, if Origin crashes when you saving the file, there might be no way to get it back.

Try looking here:
C:\Users\<your user name>\AppData\Local\OriginLab\TempSave

If it is there, it might have a slightly mangled name but it should be the full project.

Thanks,

Well I'm sorry to say that you may be out of luck. I know that's not a great answer but I don't know what else to offer.

Thanks,

Maybe it would be helpful if ALL of the autosave files weren't immediately deleted when the file is close. Sometimes, when a mistake is made, a natural reaction is to close the file and look for the autosave file. Maybe this isn't a tech person's first reaction, but it is for many people, and to have all of the files immediately deleted when the project is closed is extremely frustrating.

Hello,

Autosave is usually for cases that your Origin crashes so u can get an autosaved file.
If you close Origin normally, u will be asked to save or not to save. If u choose Save, u can find the saved file.
if u choose Unsave, we still save the last stage. U can choose Help: Open Folder: Unsaved Projects. So maybe u want to check there as well.

Thanks, Snow
