What version of Origin are you using and what plot type did you choose.
What does your source data looks like before you reoranize them into different columns. I think u can use Plot: Categorical: Grouped Column - Indexed to plot our original source data if group info. is in one column, which will be easier than you reorganize data first and then plot. Press F11 and search Grouped column to find example.
Thanks, Snow |

Hi BG Matpow,
There are many Rermanenz columns so I am not sure which one u want to plot. But supposing you want to plot column D and E against group information in column B and A, here is what you can do.
Highlight column D and E and choose Plot: Categorical: Grouped Column - Indexed. In the dialog, click the > button in Column Columns and choose Column B (temperature) first. Then click > again and choose column A (magnetic field). Click OK. --> It will plot column bar with error against group information in column A and B.
A is 1st in the group columns field so it's the bigger group. B is the 2nd so it's the smaller group with in group A. The color of columns are based on the smaller group.
Thanks, Snow |

Hi Snow,
THANKS ALOT!!! There is my diagram/result.
Last question: the order of the numbers is not correct. 75 and 150 are at the end, but 75 should logically between 55 and 100. Same fot 150. Do you know?
best regards matpow |

Hi BG Matpow, When setting columns A & B as group columns, they are treated like categorical text and by default we use the appearance order.
The 1st appearence of 75 and 150 must be after all other numbers have shown.
Here how to manually control orders. 1. In original sheet, right click column A & B and check "Set as Categorical". Choose Yes to the prompts. U will see the data all are left-aligned which means they are treated as text now. A Categorical row shows with "Unsorted" in it. Unsorted means using appearance order.
2. Double click Unsorted and in the dialog, change Sort to be Ascending for column A and B. --> Graph will auto update.
Note: U can also check Customize Categoricals to define your own order.
Thanks, Snow
