Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 2021b
Operating System: Windows 10
Dear Origin Forum,
I have created a ribbon plot (Figure 1) whose x-axis I want to change from a numbering of 1-42 to a date+time unit.
When I create a corresponding X column in my workbook, Origin cannot distinguish between 2 different times on the same day.
The result is that the corresponding y-values are overlapping in the plot (see figure 2).
How do I get a plot that looks like Figure 1 but with a time scale?

Do you mind sharing your project?
It's hard to tell how the date column is set to Date or not since i can't tell if the date are right aligned. And not sure how you you modified the axis scale and tick labels.
And maybe when plotting for the first time, you can directly use A as X so no need to first plot with sample ID as X and change axis later.

Hi Locardas,
There is no problem of the time axis plot.
It display differently from the other one because the X data is not in monotonic order.
If you sort the column ascending, the 2 graphs will look basically the same.
PS, it is not 100% the same since the X data has some missing date, like 2019-12-16 is missing, so it will have a bigger gap. |

Change x-axis of a plot from nubers to date
