Please check the following test project:

In my environment, if I alter column selection in the settings of Join Worksheets by Column GUI dialog, then nothing changes. For example, put a tick to the checkbox at Sheet A column J.
It seems that the function works unstable.

Do you reproduce this?

Hi Andrey,
I can reproduce this issue. Developer checked and found when there is vertical bar in column long name, we can not add such column as input. We will fix it with ORG-25271. For now, you have to remove || from column long name to select such columns.

Following issue you reported in this post has been fixed in Origin 2023:
Join Worksheet Input column fail to select if there is vertical bar “||” (ORG-25271).

Please try it in Origin 2023.
