OriginPro 2022b (64-bit) SR1 9.9.5.167
Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64

Greetings!

I want to fit my data with a power function y=x^(-a), where a is non-negative. If I choose standard Power, which is y=x^a, then I don't get the desired solution (a is always positive).
I couldn't find y=x^(-a) from the standard catalogue @ https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Curve-Fitting-Function.

What would you suggest me to do to limit value of the parameter a to the desired range?

Thank you.

Andrey

Hi Andrey,

You can set the upper bound for the parameter "a" in function Power.

If needed, you might need to give a more appropriate inital value for "a".

Thanks,
Shirley

Dear Shirley,

How do I give a more appropriate initial value for "a"?
