Origin 2016 (64-bit) Sr2
Operating System:Windows 10
Instead of plotting several curves on the y axis against the x axis. I want to plot several curves on x axis against the y axis (depth in my case). It seems like this should be easy to do, but I cant get it. When I import the data file the first column is for the yaxis (which I designate Y) and then the other columns as X. I can get a single curve to plot this way, but not several. Do I need to repeat the Y column for each X column? Seems like there should be an easier way.

Hi,
Currently, Origin do not support plotting XXXY or YXXX directly. You need to open plot setup to add such plot one by one. To open plot setup, you can right click layer icon, or plot without any selection. I created a jira(ORG-26461) to discuss this issue further.

Thanks
Cecilia

Thanks. I stumbled upon doing it with plot set-up after I posted but thought there might be an easier way.

Dear jwrudn,

Origin 2023b is available!

The following feature you suggested in this post has been implemented in this version.
"Want to Easily plot one Y against multiple X" (ORG-26461)
You can run “plotxy” X-Function and select “Select from Worksheet by X”

Please download Origin 2022b from the link below, install and try it.
http://www.originlab.com/demodownload.aspx

If you do not have an active Origin Maintenance, you can still use this trial version for 7 days.

We are looking for your feedback! Any suggestion will be appreciated!

Thanks,
Amanda
