Many years ago I figured out a way to combine a 3d bar chart and a flattened 3d-surface plot onto the same graph. I have tried to update (add new values to) the data in the plot and extend the scale. This works easily for the bar chart, but I cannot get the surface plot to recognize that I have added values to the matrix for the surface plot. Is there a way in the Plot Setup dialog (in the Range column) to adjust the min and max X values? For example, the range now says: 1936 <X< 2015, and I want to be able to change the 2015 to 2022. I think if I could change that, I might fix my problem.
Thank you,
Lowell

Hi RiverFalls,

I am afraid that you have to re-draw the surface plot, as creating a surface from matrix will do some calculations, see
https://www.originlab.com/doc/Origin-Help/Create-Contour-Graph#Algorithm_for_Creating_a_Contour_from_a_Matrix
When you added more values into source data, the calculations should be performed again to include them.

Thanks,
Shirley

Thank you. Now I need to figure out how I did this plot in the first place!

An update - I realized that I could re-size the matrix using:
Matrix-> Set Dimensions/Labels. That fixes the problem.
