At least in the version 7.5 there are possibilities. It called "label" and you can find it in the "Diagram Setup" in the column "L". Once activated, you can use symbols, letters, numbers or everything that you write in your label-column from the worksheet.

Hi Martin,

To use "Row Number Numerics", you need to check the 'Show Construction' checkbox on the Symbol tab of the Plot Details dialog. Once checked you'll see some radio buttons. You can select "Row Number Numerics".

To use values from a dataset, you'll have to plot a label column. Designate the column as Label in the worksheet and then add it to the layer. (You'll need to plot X,Y,L columns.) You can then set the symbol type to None. To do this you'll need to select the down arrow button next to the Preview on the Symbol tab of the Plot Details dialog. Choose the last button in the last row; you'll almost miss it because it is nothing. Then on the Label tab, you might want to set the X Offset to 0.
