Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7 Operating System: Windows XP
I want to fit with my data set the following equation "Hc=6+((Hf-6)/(1+k*(h/1030)^a))" my data set is Hc and h and i have to find out Hf,k,a from fitting. I want to do the following, pls help me.
In the fitting wizard i have to give approximate values for Hf,k,a and the fitting is done. Once the fitting is done and "Done" I am getting the R^2 and chisqu values. If I change the initial given values of Hf,k,a I am not getting the changed R^2 values, i am only s eeing the p revious values.
Also, if I want to change Hf,k,a giving some increments and see the corresponding R^2 values and the curves (simultaneously or otherwise).
Please tell me how to do it.

Regardless (almost) of the initial parameters, provided they are within range of a local minima, the fit will converge to that local minima giving exactly the same results as previously.
It sounds like what you want to do is fis some parameters at particular ( and possibly some increment of those )values and see what kind of fit you get.
You can open your function in the fitter and deselect the Vary checkbox to try a fit at some particular parameter value.
There is a post here that gives a script example of this : http://www.originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=4708
