It seems you haven't copied the Origin's library file to LabVIEW, you can do as following instructions from Origin's Help.

------------------
Origin ships with a library of building-block LabVIEW VIs that can use to create custom VIs to communicate with Origin. The building-block VIs have names that start with OA,.

These building-block VIs are contained in the file Origin Automation Server.llb.

If Origin is installed after installing LabVIEW, this file is automatically placed under the \user.lib subfolder of the LabVIEW installation folder. The VIs are then visible from the Functions->User Libraries palette in LabVIEW.

If Origin is installed before LabVIEW, you must manually copy this file from the \Samples\Automation Server\LabVIEW subfolder of the Origin program folder to the \user.lib subfolder of the LabVIEW installation, for them to be visible from the LabVIEW Functions palette.
------------------------

Hope it helps,

Hai Zachary ,

Thanks for the reply, i have tried your suggestion earlier and it is not the reason, the labview's error list shows
'invoke node:invalid method'
for each of the VIs that we have placed in the block diagram window.(in Win XP)

The strange thing is that the samples VIs for labview version 5 and 6 are working in labview6.0 in win98 with having any trouble.

expecting your opinion.

regards.

Oddly enough.

I searched in the net and got an article in NI's website.
Maybe it can do some help.

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/246B651C89F4AA2586256B1400656AE2?OpenDocument

In your case, select Window>Show Block Diagram in LabVIEW program and you will see a subVI named OAOpenCommunication.vi, double click it to open the subVI, right click Origin.IOApplication (this is an automation refnum terminal) and Select ActiveX Class and then do as instructions in above article.

Can this work?
Furthermore, could you give some information on how do you install Origin and LabVIEW (the sequence of installing and upgrading of the two softwares) so that I can know what will make this occur?
