Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5
Operating System: Windows XP

Since two days my NLSF tool does not work correctly; whenever I try to use user-definded equations, after the first iteration I get the Error message "28037" (parameters not initialised correctly or problems with the user-defined equation (or something like that))

with the built in equations everything runs without problems

since (knowingly) I did not change anything in relation to historical evaluations, what can be the reasons for that sudden problems? And how can I get rid of them?

I searched the forum for "error 28037" and found that this problem occured for a few times in the past, but unfortunately I did not find any solution.

Thanks for your suggestions,

hauli

Built in functions automatically estimate starting values of parameters but user-defined functions typically do not. Sounds like you simply need to enter reasonable initial values for your parameters before starting the fit.

Dear Mike!

The problem was not one of unreasonable initial values, but
that unreasonable values for DELTA and MINIMUM/MAXIMUM were used.
(I don't know, where they came from)

setting them back to reasonable values, everything works fine

NLSF is a great tool!
