How do I fit a power function to a scatter plot. I have a scatter plot of fish weight VS fish length that is J-shaped but I would like to fit a power function that best describes the data. I tried the wizard under non-linear fit in Analysis but it connects several scatter points with separate lines instead of just fitting one J-shaped power function to the data. See image below.
You said "it connects several scatter points with separate lines instead of just fitting one J-shaped power function to the data", do you mean there is no fitted curve on your plot? I am not quite sure what's your problem, could you describe your steps in detail or use the Allometric1 and Allometric2 function on the Power category to fit your data again?
Hey, Thanks. That is what I exactly did. I used the allometric 1 and Allometric 2 for fitting but got several lines instead of just one line. What I am doing wrong?
I try these fitting functions and OK by using some of my data, maybe you can sort your data before fitting, If it doesn't work, please send your OPJ to tech@originlab.com and we can have a try?
