Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.0 SR4 Operating System: XP I submitted some figures in pdf format for publication, but these were not accepted because the pdf file format was version 3. The publisher wanted 4 or greater. Is there an update available or is there an easy way of converting pdf version 3 to 4 or greater?
First of all I think you mean 1.3 and 1.4 rather than 3 and 4. I've converted from level 1.2 or 1.3 to 1.4 using the free program called Ghostscript. Download and install the latest Ghostscript and Ghostview...
Then open one of your PDFs in Ghostview, select File> Convert and choose pdfwrite for Device. If you know the original Resolution you should probably enter that for the converted PDF, otherwise play around with that value for best results. You can also try various Page Size settings but I recommend Variable. Click the Properties button to change the Compatibility Level to 1.4. Finally, click OK and enter a file name.
