Operating System: WIN 2000 SP4

Hi, while I'm trying to fit a data set with four lorentzian functions the program doesn't respond for a long time and CPU usage goes to 100%. I write the function using origin C. Everything happens well. But it takes long time to do it and during the period it hangs.
Any suggestions?
