Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro 8 SR0 - v8.0725(B725) Operating System: Win Vista Business
Hi,
I just installed my Origin 8 and ... well ... Huston, we have a problem...
I'm doing the following moves: - open a new project - import a 3-colums ASCII file in a workbook and set the third column (C) as Z - select this third column and then Worksheet -> Convert to Matrix -> XYZ griding (I would like to make a 3D surface or a contour plot) and ... nothing happens
After some digging I found out that the only place where something is happening when doing the above steps is the Code Builder window where the output is:
compiling... NAG_UTILS.C compiling... OC_nag8__PCH.OPH compiling... WKSOPERATION.C compiling... Operation__PCH.OPH compiling... wksOperation__PCH.OPH compiling... XYZ2Mat.OP compiling... GROBJ_UTILS.C Linking... C:\Program Files\OriginLab\Origin8\OriginC\Originlab\WKSOPERATION.C(483) :Error, Function get_source_page_name@LBAAAAAAOGAAAAAABCAAAAAALBAAAAAA was called, but its body could not be located during linking. Linking Failed!
After this error some other things are happening. For example if before the error the "set column values" was working, after provoking the above error with XYZ Gridding I cannot do "set column values" no more because: compiling... DATAOBJECTMANAGER.OP compiling... ColMatValues.OP Linking... C:\Program Files\OriginLab\Origin8\OriginC\OriginLab\WKSOPERATION.H(597) :Error, Function GetEscapedMainDataString@_OGAAAAAALBAAAAAAIAAAAAAACAAAAAAADAAAAAAADAAAAAAA was called, but its body could not be located during linking. Linking Failed!
Thanks a lot. Option 1 worked like a charm! I also enjoyed very much the Plot->Contour->XYZ Contour option. I`ll do some testing to see which way fits me best (at a first glance I might stick with random gridding which seems to remove some noise I have in the experimental data).

You did a very nice job with ver. 8!
Thank you once again! Laurentiu
P.S. Looking forward for SR1 :)
Hi I have the same problem with Origin 8. That link never works. Please help.
