I am thinking about buying a Mac, but I love Origin and can't live without it. So I'm thinking about buying a MacBook and setting it up so that I can boot it as a Windows or Mac machine. In theory I could boot it up as a Windows machine do my Origin work and export graphs/figures to the hard drive or a USB memory stick. Then I could re-boot as a Mac and use those graphs/figures in some Mac based word processor such as iWork. Has anybody done this before? Is this idea crazy? How can I have my cake (buying a Mac) and eat it too (use Origin on it)?

Hi,

We suggest that instead of booting back and forth, after you install the Windows partition, you should consider purchasing some product such as Parallels or VMWare and run that. Those applications allow your Windows programs to run in your Mac OS environment. You can even drag and drop files such as graph exports to and from Windows applications.

We run Macs this way at our tradeshows.
