Origin Version (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.0
Operating System: XP

I have data not in column form, but in block form (ascii numbers seperated by spaces) which I need to import to an origin column.

The file looks as follows:

header line 1
header line 2
...
header line n
[x-axis]
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 ....
header lines
....
[y1-axis]
17 3 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 ....
header lines
....
[y2-axis]
18 9 1 2 33 4 5 6 7 ....
......
[yn-axis]

I want the blocks imported to columns in origin.
The result should look like this:

x1-axis y1-axis y2-axis .... yn-axis
1 17 18 .... .....
1 3 9
3 1 1
4 2 2
5 3 33
6 4 4
......

Is there an easy way to do so? (import wizzard, labtalk, originC?)

Hi Giselher,

You will need to write OC code to read the file, and then that code can be put into a user-defined import wizard filter for repeated use. Or a less elegant solution could be to import the file all as text and use script to parse out the data and create another sheet.

Can you send us a sample file so we can take a look? You can send to tech@originlab.com
