Origin Version (Origin Pro SR1): Operating System: Vista SP1
Hi, I'd like to know how to make an automatic fit of datas without having to enter the nonlinear curve fit dialog box. So How can I tell origin to use a particular fit fonction with particular parameters and to do it automatically ?
Thanks by Advance... |

Hi:
We will introduce a new mechanism to write LabTalk scripts to control nonlinear curve fitting in SR2. Before we release SR2, I think you can:
1. Use Analysis Templates or Themes, both theme and template can remember the fitting function and parameter settings.
2. Set the Recalculate Mode as Auto, and then you can update the source data only to get new results.
After we release SR2, we will have examples to show you how to write LabTalk script to implement that.
Thanks Larry OriginLab Technical Services |

The problem is that with my user fit fonction it don't seem to work, I perform the fitting, I save my project as a template, and when I put datas back all calculations are all right but the fitting doesn't work... Here's what I Get :

PS: when I fit datas every fitting parameters are remembered except : "Fitted Curve Plot" - "X data type" - "Same as input datas" I always have to click on this parameter to change from "uniform linear"

Hi,
I tried with a user-defined function in SR1 and could not reproduce the problem. You may want to send your OPJ and your user-defined function file FDF to tech support so they can check.

Maybe you can only perform an auto fit with fixed parameters ?
I'll send the opj on the contrary... |

Hi,
Did not receive your files...perhaps you sent to the distributor in France? If yes, can you please send again to tech@originlab.com address?
Thanks,

Hello,
I reproduced the problems in sr1.
Both problems (autofit not working and "Fitted Curve Plot" - "X data type" - "Same as input datas" not remembered in theme) have been fixed in our internal builds and Origin8SR2 which will be released soon.
But you can't use this sr1 opj you created in sr2 directly. Here is what you need to do to make this opj work in coming sr2.
Open your opj in sr2. Go to FitX column on Exploitation sheet. Click and choose Change Parameters context menu. Go to Output page. Go to Output Reports To: Fitted Curves node. Set Sheet to <source>. Click Fit button. Go back to Exploitation sheet. Choose Worksheet: Clear Worksheet. Save the opj again.(u can save it as analysis template ogw as well) --> Autofit will work in the newly saved opj/ogw.
Thanks, Snow Li OriginLab Corp.
