A lab member is trying to install their copy of Origin 6.1 on a duo core intel machine running XP Pro, SP 2. The splash screen with the install option will come up but clicking any option (including install) results in the program not responding.

Is this an OS incompatibility or a physical media issue?

I can succesfully install 6.1 in my PC with Intel Core2 6300, 2G memory and Windows XP SP2.

So maybe you can try to update to XP SP3 and then retry?
