In the Lab Talk Manual for the Origin 4.0 Version on page 109 is a "lap talk"
script printed which can open multiple files and print all graphs within the
file. This script ran perfectly under Origin 4.0, but not under the new
Origin 4.1 Update. It seems like the filename of each individual file to be
opened, saved under the variable %A, is not entered in full length.
When the full path due to several subdirectories gets to be too long only
part of the file name is saved. The "doc -open" command then cannot open the
file, because %A does not contain the full filename.
How can the script be altered to make it run again, because it is quite
a handy script which I already used a lot?

RE: Problems with Lab Talk Scripts in Origin 4.1

This is true. The limit of the number of characters for a directory path and file name is about 50. This is actually caused because Windows will abbreviate the filename. Therefore, the filename, in the multiple getfile dialog box, that Windows sends to Origin is already abbreviated.

To solve this problem, you should place your files in a directory with a shorter directory tree.

LabTalk Script

If the total character length of your path is greater than 200, then try
changing the code to read...

getfile -m *.opj;
loop(i,1,count)
{
getfile -g i;
%Z=%A; /* Store path into large protected area before opening the project */

.... rest of code on page 109 ....
