Using the Demo version of Origin 4.0, I attempted to fit multiple datasets
using the file fitexmp4.opj (located in the samples subdirectory of Origin).
When I chose very poor initial parameters, I did receive this error. I then
tested this using the release of Origin 4.1 (our current retail version). I
did not
receive the floating point error message when choosing the same poor initial
parameters. However, it did not converge to a good fit because the initial
parameters were so far off. Then, I used the 4.0 demo to fit the same data
with good initial parameters. The fitting then converged very well.
The error you receive must be caused by a limitation of the Origin 4.0 demo
version and choosing poor initial parameters.
