Origin Ver. and Service Release: 7.5 SR4
Operating System: WinXP

Hello All!

My question may look trivial for some of you, but still. I'm fitting my experimental data (just an single data set) with a single Lorentzian peak and I'm wondering about the way Origin calculates Chi^2 and R^2 during the fitting. I couldn't find any info in help on that. Could someone of you please explain?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

This online help page is from Origin 8 help file:
http://originlab.com/www/helponline/Origin8/en/regression_and_curve_fitting/the_fit_results.html

Most of what is on this page is same as what is available in 7.5. Some statistics such as Adjusted R^2 are new and available only in O8.

So this page should provide you with the necessary info. You can also try the same fit in the Origin 8 demo which you can download from our site.
