Origin Ver. Pro8 SR0 v8.0724 and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): Operating System:XP
I have some spectra data from a raman spectrometer.I have just over 2000 data points.
Everytime I try to run the baseline or peak fit wizard it gives me an error saying "The Input data are not monotonic increase!"
now I know that my x values are monotonic and my y values are not, reason I am pick peaks and want area.
is this a problem for anyone else.
I have sorted the data in the column ascendong / descending makes no difference. I can't understand.
I have tried this with some other versions of origin in the past and other data sets and remember getting the same problem. / someone out there must encounter the same problems, any ideas |

Hi Bill:
Did you tried to Sort Worksheet instead of sort column?
If it doesn't help, maybe you can update Origin and try the Peak Analyzer tool.
If you still meet the problem, please send us your data and we will have a try.
Thanks Larry OriginLab Technical Services |

Hi:
Please contact your local distributor to upgrade your Origin from regular to professional version. That is, upgrade to OriginPro 8.1.
Thanks Larry |

Hi this error is because there is irregular increment with x-axis data. so for baseline correction choose x-axis as 1,2,3,4...... so on and than try baseline correction and use y-axis corrected data with your original x-axis. it worked for me... |
