Does anyone know of any curve fitting Software that will allow you to force a curve through a specific Y- intercept? Simply including the intercept in your data set does not always produce the desired curve because the software treats it as just another data point and takes the best fit near that intercept. We are looking for software that will hold the intercept as a "hard" point. The curve is not only the best fit but must pass thru this point. Any help would be appreciated
Regarding what you want to "force a curve through a specific Y-intercept" in fitting, I suggest to add an intercept point at (0, y0) (or anywhere you want) in your dataset *with a high weight* (Origin has the way by adding a third column). This way is not analytical nor algorithmic, but numerically practical as I did a small experiment with a Boltzman curve.
