Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5SR7
Operating System: XP

Hi all,

I do have a problem doing a global fit to two datasets (of different length) with 2 different functions but shared parameters.

Parameter Names: A,B,C
Independent Var.: xs1, xs2
Dependent Var.: out1, out2
out1=xs1*xs1*(A+3*B+5*C-(4*B+16*C)*xs1+12*xs1*xs1);
out2=(1-xs2)*(1-xs2)*(A+B+C-(4*B+8*C)*xs2+12*xs2*xs2);

xs1 and xs2 span the range from 0 to 0.5. But Dataset 1 [out1(xs1)] has 114 data points while Dataset 2 [ou2(xs2) has only 15 data points.

Now the non linear curve fitting fits Dataset 1 only in the range of the data of the first 15 data points.

Any suggestion what to do?

Thank you,

Uli

Hi all,

I realized that I was not carefully reading the manual: "Note that Origin doesn't support multiple input ranges when you choose to fit multiple X & Y functions."

Once I forced the data to the same range the fitting did work as intended.
