Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.0 Operating System: XP
I'm trying to fit some fluorescence lifetime decay data which includes an instrument response function on the leading edge of the decay. I'm sure the data can be fit using a convolution of a Gaussian and an exponential decay curve, but I'm having trouble writing a script for it (this being my first attempt at this type of thing). I'm using Origin 7.0, and as such I've been plotting my data as a scatter plot with x and y columns, then opening the advanced nonlinear curve fitting function under Analysis. Using the "define new function" option, I've been trying to follow the approach detailed in a past post, http://www.originlab.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=5644&SearchTerms=gaussian,exponential,decay,7.0 but the original author seems to have solved his problem without detailing his solution. Any advice or suggestions would be quite welcome, and I'll provide more details as needed. Thank you in advance! Daniel |
