Origin Ver. 8.1
Operating System:Windows Vista

After using the x-function fitPeaks, how do you access the data in the tree/Results sheet it produces? I need to transfer some of the information in the parameters section to another worksheet. I've been looking at the examples that show how to access a tree given here: http://wiki.originlab.com/~originla/wiki/index.php?title=Script:Accessing_Metadata but I haven't been able to find anything that works.

Thanks,
Katie

Hi Katie,

The getresults XF should work, so for example if the report sheet created by fitpeaks is the active sheet, you can read values such as:
getresults tr:=mytree;
mytree.parameters.r1.c1=;

But this is cumbersome as one has to read as row/column, this getresults xf is a general purpose xf.

I think you are better off not using fitpeaks and instead using the nlbegin/nlfit/nlend xfs, in which case the result is already available in tree form in the script, and if you later want to read it from the report sheet, the getnlr xf which is very specific to nlfit report sheet can then be used, which has much better syntax to access the parameter values by name etc.

Again give tech support a call, so we can understand the bigger picture of what you are trying to do, and help you better.
