Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System:

I have a few questions about the general use of the above:

1) Is there any reason why someone would want to do a scatter when all of the data is independent of each other... x does not depend on y, y does not depend on z, z does not depend on x or y.
2) I have one associate that has three grids of data 120x120 that he is calling grid x, grid y and grid z. He wants to do a scatter plot. What could he possibly learn if the data are not related to one another in some way?
3) I am assuming that the data is time ordered in some way and that, if he reconfigured the data into three colums, he would, at least, be able to plot the data. The assumption I am making is that each triplet is gathered at the same moment in time.

I am trying to help someone understand this but in the process I think we are both confused.
