Creating a 3D Scatter Graph with two different Symbol TypesIt is not possible on the 3D graph to change the symbol type within a dataset,
although it is possible to do this with the 2D graphs.
You need to create two different worksheets, one containing the data that
you have with an "a" in your fourth column and a second containing the "b"
data.
The two worksheets will look like this.
Data1 Data2
1 1 3 2 3 2
1 4 4 1 2 3
First you will graph Data1 using Plot: 3D Charts: Scatter.
Double Click on one of the Black Squares to call up the 3D Scatter
Options dialog box. Change the black squares to spheres and perhaps
increase their size.
Next you will graph Data2 using Plot: 3D Charts: Scatter.
You are doing this to set the type of graph you want to relate
this data to, within Origin.
Finally, you will go back to the first graph that you created and
double click on the layer Icon in the upper left of the graph window.
You will look in the available data column and move data2_c to the Layer
Contents. You will now have one set of data displayed with Squares
and the second set with Spheres.
