and still cannot get the right result!!!!!! Any help or suggestions on what I may be doing wrong or how to do it right would be greatly appreciated!!!!!
What happens is that when all is said and done, the top axis that I add, still has equally spaced tick marks, not the non-linear relationship I need.
I should add, that even if I follow the posted example verbatim (using their numbers etc.) the top axis still is not nonlinear. Instead rhe ticks are evenly spaced and the desired range takes up about 80% of the whole axis, leaving ~20% label-less.
Are you by chance using SR0--SR2 of Origin 8.1? There was a bug with the Offset Reciprocal axis option that was introduced in 8.1 SR0 and persisted until 8.1 SR2; the bug was fixed in 8.1 SR3. Perhaps check (Help: About Origin) which Service Release of 8.1 you are using, and if not SR3, then download the patch and try the tutorial again. The SR3 patch is available from our website:
