Dear all,
I want to plot multiple 2D line curves with multiple columns of X and single column of Y. When I access to "Plot setup", I could not select multiple objects in X column while the other columns (Y, yEr, L) could be. Is it possible to set multiple objects in X column? Alternatively, how to reverse axes of a graph (X to Y and Y to X) in Origin Pro 8.1?

Hi Umi,
To plot multiple X data columns against a single Y data column, I suggest creating multiple X-Y pairs; Origin handles this case just fine, but is setup by default to handle the much more common scenario of plotting multiple Y's against a shared X.
For reversing or swapping the axes, there are two ways. If you already have a graph of Y vs. X, from the menu, select Graph->Exchange X & Y axes. Alternately, in the Plot Setup dialog, simply reverse the X and Y selections.

Thank you so much for your help.
I understood the ways of reversing or swapping the axes. However, I don't know how to create multiple x-y pairs. I tried to access Plot/Multi-curve/... but I could not find the solution. It would appreciate if you could you help me to explain step by step how to plot multiple X data against a single Y data column. I am sorry since I am a new user of Origin.

Hi Umi,
Multi-curve is not what you want here. For each Y-data column, Origin uses the first X-column to its left for plotting. So, set every other column to X type (select the column, right click, Set As->X), so that you have an X-Y pair for every new X you want to plot (you will use the same Y for each, just copy the Y data into each). Once you do that, you can highlight all columns and plot.
But more simply, put your Y data in the right-most (default) X column, then your X data in Y columns to the left. Plot the data together, then perform Graph->Exchange X-Y axes.
