Hi LE Sánchez,
Could you please try to set the Long Name's Format to Rich Text (Right-click in the gray area in the worksheet, choose "Properties", select "Format" tab, select "Long Name" for "Apply To" dropdown, then turn ON the "Rich Text" check box)?
As far as I tried this, it worked.

Hi Hideo Fujii, in advance thank you very much for your help, I mention that something curious, since I've tried step by step what you told me and it works but only for the character "é", if I try any other character does exactly the same as before, thanks..
I hope someone can help...

Yes, it behaves weirdly, and it must be a bug. I will report the problem to the developers. Meanwhile could you please try to use the Symbol Map to enter the characters as follows? :
1) As described in my previous message above, set the Long Name's Format to Rich Text. 2) In Long Name, during entering your characters, when you need to enter special characters, right-click at the blinking cursor, and choose "Symbol Map" fly-out. (the same way you enter special symbols in text label on a graph). 3) Turn ON "Unicode" check box, and insert any character (like á or é) or symbol.
This must work as how the Symbol Map should work. Let me know how it goes.

Hi LE Sánchez,
What is your Origin Version? (You can see it from Help menu - About Origin)
And what is your OS?

Hi LE Sánchez and BenBroccoli,
As using Symbol Map is cumbersome to operate, I am further investigating this accent character issue. When I used the English operating system(Win XP) with the default language settings, accent characters like á and é could be successfully entered even without setting to Rich Text. I'm pretty sure that the native language of the Windows and its language settings are very much related to this issue. So, could you please tell me the following information when you encounter the problem of entering accent characters?
Could you please tell me:
1)What is the type of Windows (e.g., WinXp, Win VISTA, Win7, etc.)? 2)What is the native language of your Windows (i.e., language of the user interface of Windows)? 3)In Control Panel, choose Region and Language. What are the following language settings: - i) Choose "Administrative" tab, and what is the selected setting of "Language for Non-Unicode Programs"? - ii) Choose "Keyboard & Language" tab, press "Change Keyboard" button at "Keyboard & Other Input Language"; Then (in General tab), what is the "Default Input Language"? - iii) Also, choosing "Keyboard & Language" tab, and after pressing "Change Keyboard", what is the type of keyboard? (in Installed Service) - iv) Choose "Keyboard & Language" tab, what is the "Display Language"? - vi) Choose "Formats" tab, what is the language of the "Format"? 4)What is the accent character you couldn't enter? (I mean the character in the extended ASCII code table [i.e.,1-byte letter] - not characters only found in unicode table)
Thank you for your help!
