Origin Ver. 8.1.0 and Service Release SR1(Select Help-->About Origin): Operating System: Windows 7
Hi everyone,
My data has multiple histograms (common X axis, different Y axes)and would like to globally fit the data with sum of Gaussians (2-3) fixing the centres (Xc) and allowing all other parameters to vary. Basically I want to know best fit of the function to the data to extract the means of the gaussians.
When I tried using the 'replica' option (with 2 replicas for sum of 3 gaussians) to create a sum of gaussian function, the 'global fit' option was not active. Its only active when I use a single gaussian (the 'Gauss' function in Origin). Is there any other way of doing this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
If you are going to fit a single curve which contains multiple Gaussian peaks, you can run multiple peak fitting ("Analysis: Peaks and baseline" menu). If you have more than one such curves (in a single graph or in multiple graphs), you can run a batch processing ("File: Batch Process" menu, then you can choose "Use Existing XY Datasets" as Data Source instead of "Import From Files") after you make an Analysis Template (Run multiple peak fitting on one curve, then save the project as an Analysis Template ("File: Save Project as Analysis Template" menu).
