Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 8.5 Operating System: win 7 .............. I am trying to save an entire project as an analysis template. The difficulty I am having is, if i go from file -> save project as analysis template, it'll save it as *opj file and when I open it again, I can see all data is also stored. But I was expecting that only the settings will be saved and not the data like it happens in case you want to save a workbook as an analysis template. Can someone help me with that. I want to save the project as analysis template with all its settings (like column name, column formula etc.) but without the data.

Hi AB,
I checked version 8.5.1 and I see that the input data for all operations is cleared when saving. Perhaps this was not the case in 8.5.
Note that if you have some raw data in some book with no operation associated with it, that data will not be cleared. In other words, we find the operations, and clear the input data of the operations.

I shall check again then. By the way, my version is 8.5.1 SR 2. ...................... I have another question though, do you have the similar things (these template things) for saving a folder and its contents and associated operations as an template ? My situation is, i have done some data analysis in a folder and now I want to do the same things on some other data but save that analysis in a a different folder, by a different name so that it is easily accessible. Is there a way out for doing this ?

Nope, it does not work for me. Everything is copied !!! Look, this is what I have : A workbook: 1st worksheet has multiple columns of X and Y data. A few graphs: from those X,Y columns of data. A few fits: from peak and baseline, to these data in graph and the result is plotted to the source graph. ............. Now when I save the project as analysis template, it will save everything.I mean EVERYTHING ..including the data, the oerations, the fits, the fit parameters..all...

Hi:
There is a workaround for this. You can right-click the folder, and save this folder as an OPJ. Then, create a new folder, and append the OPJ to the new folder. Then you will have a duplicated folder.

Hi:
As Easwar mentioned above, you need to make sure all data is related some operations. Or, the data will not be cleared.
If it doesn't help, maybe you can send us the OPJ and we will have a look.
