Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro 8.5
Operating System: Windows 7

Hello to everyone!

I would like to obtain the Power Spectral Density from a set of data (X,Y). Is there a simple way to remove the DC Offset or do I have to create a new column "Y-mean(Y)" before doing the FFT.

Another question : Is there any FFT Tutorial ?

Thank you in advance !

Hi,

The FFT tool does not provide the option for removing the DC offset. Of course, you can create a new column "Y-mean(Y)". However, you can also use the FFT filter to remove the DC offset. You can just use the high-pass filter, set the Cutoff Frequency to zero, and clear the Keep DC Offset check box.
