I just found this forum, so I am not sure if this topic has surfaced before. Based on a vote it was recently decided in our department to switch our PC's from the Microsoft to the Linux operating systems. While we can currently run our licensed Origin versions up to version 3.78 under 16-bit Wabi, the later versions cannot be run under Linux. With the recent explosion of Linux witnessed in the academic and research domain I would imagine that there is quite a demand for Linux binaries. I personally would welcome a GUI class library of Origin functions to be used with the QT GUI system from Troll Tech.
I have programmed my applications for many years using Labtalk for the GUI components, but since about 2 years now I have switched to Linux and QT for app development, but what is missing is a decent scientific graphics library like Origin. Any chance at all for such a product? I hope Microcal is actively pursuing plans to support Linux.

Thanks for your time! -b.d-

Although we do not want to leave Linux users out, we have to prioritize our resources. Our current analysis of our market options indicates that it is best for us to focus all of our efforts on providing the best Microsoft Windows package we can. However, this has certainly come up before and I'll make sure our development team is aware of the continued interest.
Thank you for the suggestion.
