Can anybody guide me when we plot box-whisker plot, what is the scientific reason we plot 10 th/ 90 th percentile or 5 th/95 percentile . Why it is important to plot so? why we dont plot any other number and why physical quantity it means. I shall be very thankful to you. gracy

If I may, you may want to give the "mnemonics" like: 10-90 modestly inclusive 5-95 significantly inclusive 1-99 highly significantly inclusive I found an interesting article here.
