Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System:
I have experimental data graph in orgin for optical constants and want to do Drude Model fitting to calculate plasma frequency and relaxation time using equations of Drude model for real and imaginary part. How to do this Drude fitting in origin? Any help will be appreciated?

Hi,

Presumably you have two sets of data for real and imaginary part and want to fit them? What are the equations for fitting the real and imaginary part? Are there parameters that need to be shared between the two by fitting simultaneously?

anyone can help with this question: thanks as i need to do this as well. here are the fitting equations

for the real part:

epsilon_real= epsilon_inter - (omega_p)^2/(omega^2+gamma^2 )

for the imaginary part:

epsilon_imaginary = ((omega_p)^2 * gamma)/(omega^3 + omega * (gamma)^2 )

the changing parameters are omega_p , gamma and epsilon_inter where epsilon_inter can be taken to be 1 to simplify the solving.
