Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): O8.60 SR3
Operating System: WIN7
Hello,
I am trying to copy the Plot properties from one graph to another via copy format or by defining and applying a theme. While several entries work just fine, the settings for - line (step H center) and - fill area pattern won't be copied or applied.
creating a theme shows the correct entries in the theme organizer. However they won't be applied to the graph. Other entries such as ticks work just fine.
Is this a bug or am I missing something?
Gi
P.S. By creating a template AND a theme and applying both I do somewhat manage to achieve the desired result. But is this really necessary?

Hi
I am afraid that I can not reproduce your problem in Origin 8.6 SR3. These settings both can be copied to other graph, and also can be saved as theme, then apply to other graph.
If you don¡¯t mind, please send your project file to us so that we can look into the problem? You can send us via either email or FTP with instructions in page below. http://www.originlab.com/index.aspx?go=Support&pid=752

Hi,
I have replied your email. Please check it.
1. In your project, the plots in Graph2 are grouping, but in the Graph 34 (be copied graph) the plots are ungrouping. You can: 1) Select ¡°Format: Layer Properties¡¡± in the menu when Graph 2 is activate. 2) In the ¡°Plot Details¡± dialog, go to ¡°Group¡±, then you will find the ¡°Edit Mode¡± is ¡°Dependent¡±, so the line in the plot2 and plot3 cannot be changed by ¡°Copy Format¡± and ¡°Paste Format¡± from other graph. 3) In this tab, select ¡°Independent¡± option and click ¡°OK¡± button, then you can copy the format from Graph 34 and paste to Graph2. If you want to know more about the ¡°Grouping Data Plots¡±, you can refer to these pages: http://www.originlab.com/www/helponline/Origin/en/UserGuide/Grouping_Data_Plots.html http://www.originlab.com/www/helponline/Origin/en/Category/Customizing_Grouped_Data_Plots.html
2. The same reason as the first point, why you can not apply all the formats to the Graph 2 by the theme. When you set the plots to ungroup, the format of the theme could apply to the graph, including color, line style and so on.
3. The template and theme can help you to repeat use the custom settings. You refer to these pages about template and theme: http://www.originlab.com/www/helponline/Origin/en/mergedProjects/GettingStarted/OriginLab/Themes_and_Templates.html http://www.originlab.com/www/helponline/Origin/en/mergedProjects/QuickHelp/QuickHelp/What_is_a_graph_template_and_what_is_a_graph_theme.html
