Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro 8 SR4 v8.0951
Operating System: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1

A while back I imported a txt file with 32 columns worth of data. For some reason Origin decided to set that sheet format as my new default sheet format, as seen in the picture. Now, everytime I create a new sheet I get all 32 blank columns and all the headers.

I lurked some of the forum topics and looked through the Origin help files, but had no luck finding a solution to restore the default new sheet format. I believe the problem has something to do with the page.info.system.import information, which shows the filepath to the file that I once imported. I don't know how to clear this information. I can't simply restore the default sheet format from the organizer and I couldn't find a command for the script window that would restore the default settings.

Anyone have any idea how to return my new sheet format to its default two column X&Y format? Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I'm just a user like you so I have no inside information, but I am guessing you saved the 32-column wksheet as a template, without changing the default name. In doing so, you overwrote your default worksheet template, ORIGIN.OTW, and now all your subsequent worksheets have 32 columns.

Re-create the crime. Make a 2-column worksheet like you desire, then save as a template without changing the default name.

Or, you could copy the ORIGIN.OTW file from the program directory into your user directory.

Let me know if this helped.

Hey Drbobshepherd,

It worked! Thanks so much! I didn't realize that the template option can overwrite the original ORIGIN.OTW file.

Thanks again!
