Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): 7.5
Operating System: Win XP ProXP

After a crash, I have lost several functions I had generated including a Gaussian component analysis that I used for decconvoluting absorption spectra. Since I am not a heavy origin user, I wonder if there is a collection of custom functions available somewhere, or if somebody could supply me with such a funtion.

Thanks for the quick reply. I did not find the function, but have now written a new function that is the sum of four Gaussians (center mi, amplitude Ai, width wi, plus a baseline offset y0:

y=y0 + (A1/(w1*sqrt(PI/2)))*exp(-2*((x-m1)/w1)^2) + y0 + (A2/(w2*sqrt(PI/2)))*exp(-2*((x-m2)/w2)^2) + y0 + (A3/(w3*sqrt(PI/2)))*exp(-2*((x-m3)/w3)^2) + y0 + (A4/(w4*sqrt(PI/2)))*exp(-2*((x-m4)/w4)^2)

It seems to work reasonably well with my dataset. I wonder if there exists in your collection a routine that does not only plot the fit function, but also the Gaussian components. Also, Gaussians are not always good, sometimes Voigt or even Lorentz do better.

thanks! I was interested in the first alternative and it worked nicely plotting the four Gaussians separately from the fit data table.
