 Fitting multiple data sets with a Lorentz Curve

Origin Ver. and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin): OriginPro 8.6.0 (64 bit) - b70 Academic
Operating System: Windows 8

I have upwards to 40 sets of data with the same x values but different y values set up such that the first column is x and the following 40 are y values. I need to fit a separate Lorentz curve for each set of y values and then record the parameters such as peak and FWHM.

I was hoping for a faster way of collecting this data besides individually analyzing each x,y combination.

Hi,

You can simply highlight all columns (CTRL-A), start non-linear curve fitter (CTRL-Y), choose Lorentz in Origin Basic functions, and press Fit button. The peak (=(xc, yc)) and FWHM (=w) should be in the report sheet in the same workbook. (This way runs the NLFit in Multi-Data Fit Mpde to perform the Independent Fit.)

This may be the quickest way.
