Origin Ver.8.6 and Service Release (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: windows 7

I use digitizer to get a data set y1 with respect to a range of x values. then again i use digitizer to get data set y2 with respect to same range of x-values. now I want to calculate z = y1 + y2 for each x values. although i take out the y1 and y2 data set for the same range of x values, however i am using digitizer to take it out , so the number of data points taken for y1 and y2 data set may be different. Are there any solutions to this problem?

Thank you for reading this long passage. Hope it is clear.

A simple way to do it would be to plot the two datasets in one graph.
Then use Analysis : Mathematics : Average Multiple Curves to get an interpolated average. Add a column to the AverageResult sheet and use Set Column Values to double it.

Thanks Greg for your reply

Actually i simplify the problem. what I want to do is to calculate
z = y1^2 - y2^2 for each x value. any suggestions on that?
