Origin Ver.9 and Service Release 2 (Select Help-->About Origin):
Operating System: Windows 7

If I plot a calibration line from values. How can I find a value if lets say x-value is known and I want to find out the y-value precisely? Yes, there is the screen reader tool but is it possible to just type out the x-value and y-value comes out? I find poking the line until I get the values I want is tedious.

Thanks for your help.

Hi,
When you are performing your fit (either simple linear fit or non-linear curve fit) you can check an option "find X/Y". When fitting is done, an additional sheet with empty columns for x and y is created in the workbook with your data. You simply type the known value (lets say x) and origin will automatically calculate the corresponding y value.
The "find X/Y" option is easy to find in the linear fit window; in the case of non-linear curve fit you have to go to settings tab and there you will find the subsection you need.
Regards,
Gosia
